Destination Imagination

A group of students from Brock Elementary were involved in a Creative Problem Solving Program called Destination Imagination. If you have not heard of it, you should check out their website, and get involved. www.bcdi.org
Destination Imagination is a creative problem solving program, whereby students are given "instant challenges" to solve. As well, they are to create a larger challenge with given parameters which they have to put together and solve at the regional tournament. It is a really wonderful program for all kids, but especially those children that need a challenge and like to think creatively. The Brock students placed third at Regionals, and were invited to participate at the Provincials, held in Mission, BC. They did a terrific job!!!!

Design Your Own Universe

The challenge was for students to design and create their own universe. Here are a few sample's of work, including a map, a book describing the place, and a great table of contents.

Soon, I am going to have lesson plans on line and creative ideas, and then finally, a web site...all in the future!!!

Images of Greatness Products of Learning

These wonderful students created these wonderful products of learning. Products of learning are ways to demonstrate learning and to get students creating, which is the highest level of learning in the Bloom's Taxonomy. Students ask themselves, "how do I share my knowledge and understanding of this research I have undertaken?"
